In her tenure as a professional journalist, Heather Gooch has written and edited hundreds of articles for the business press. She has held editorial positions on trade magazines in several small-business oriented industries. Heather has also created a number of print and electronic newsletters, has managed multiple Web sites and has helped coordinate awards banquets.

Heather rarely has a dull moment, though she always makes time for her clients. Besides her freelance proofreading and writing duties for an array of magazines, she counts a manufacturer, a brand-new service-based business and a dance troupe  among her PR responsibilities. She is also on the marketing team for needlework industry stalwart The National NeedleArts Association.

From her childhood, when she helped her grandmother paint faces on hundreds of handmade pop-up clown toys, to her current position as newsletter editor of her local needlework guild, Heather has always been fascinated with crafts. While she doesn't get to stitch as much as she'd like (one child's Christmas stocking is complete, for example, while the other might have to wait until college), Heather is determined to make a go of blending her knowledge of small business problems and solutions with an industry that she loves.

She is a graduate of Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, and co-owns Gooch & Gooch LLC with her husband, Jamie. When their laptops are off, the couple enjoys spending time with their daughters and their dog. They also tolerate their grouchy cat.
