April 25
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, Artyarns' Iris Schreier will be at the shop to teach her famous reversible double knitting workshop.
Pick your favorite image, or use the skulls as seen in the pictures above, and learn to make a double-sided knitted scarf that looks like stockinette with intarsia on each side. You'll make it using only knit and purl stitches on two different colors of Artyarns Cashmere 5 Ply or Artyarns Silk Pearl.
Materials:
- Size 7 knitting needles or size to achieve gauge (we use Colonial Needle's Rosewood needles for smooth, not slippery, knitting)
- 2 sks Cashmere 5 or Silk Pearl in Cream
- 2 sks Cashmere 5 or Silk Pearl in any Highlights color
Sign up and choose your yarn color by April 18. (Remember, Artyarns are hand-dyed!) Workshop in silk: $160. Workshop in cashmere: $225. No further discounts apply.
Join this workshop if you’re an intrepid, enthusiastic knitter who loves to try new things! But sign up as soon as you can (email us here or call us at 723-5478), because her classes sell out quickly. To keep it very hands-on, this one is limited in size to only eight students.

A Knit Tee to Ty Dy for
So many of you ask what I'm knitting. I'd love to say the top I'm modeling in this photo came off my needles, but it didn't. I just happen to be the person it fits, so I get to wear it! Tina Reiser made the piece, which is called Tee for Too (and now she's working on one that will actually fit her!).
It's made of one of our very favorite new yarns called Ty Dy cotton from Knit One Crochet Too. We sold out the initial order in days, so a big order with 10 colors is on the way. You will want to grab this one, probably in more than one colorway... it's my go-to top, and I'm sure it's going to be yours, too.
And what did just come off my needles, you ask? Check out Sadie's delicious hat, below!
Happy Knitting,
Laurie
